Being American is ALL about equality!

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.

We must speak out against racism, sexism, xenophobia, and all forms of bigotry. Non-discrimination protections that currently apply to race, religion, and gender should be expanded to include the LGBTQIA+ community and the atheist community. Making all Americans equal is not asking for special privileges, it’s asking for the rule of law — justice and equality for all as outlined in the United States Constitution.

Although we have made progress toward equal rights for LGBTQIA+ Americans, we still face a long road ahead of us. I will continue to stand by our LGBTQIA+ friends, family, and service members, and will not back down until we achieve full equality for ALL Americans, regardless of gender identity or sexual orientation.

Whether for LGBQTIA+, women, men, indigenous Americans, immigrants, minorities or majorities, we must honor the word “equal.” Equal rights are not a zero-sum game. We must respect everyone’s unalienable rights and promise that those rights may be exercised. Society truly thrives when all citizens are guaranteed equal rights and equal protection under the law.

  • Enact the constitutional Equal Rights Amendment
  • Change the legal definition of sex to include identity so transgender Americans will be guaranteed equal protection under the law
  • Add sexual orientation to the civil rights act and enact a constitutional amendment to add the same to the Equal Projections Amendment
